About Me

I founded Changing Sails Therapy in 2018 with the hope that our practice would embody my dream: to offer a refuge for those navigating this beautiful disaster we call life. My goal has always been to provide a haven where people can find their courage and confidence, develop self-love and compassion, and heal from the pain that life creates along the way.

The name Changing Sails was inspired by the quote, attributed to various authors, "If you cannot change the wind, adjust your sails." This felt fitting because, at ChangingSails, we understand that we can't simply make difficult or painful emotions disappear. Instead, my team and I are dedicated to teaching our clients a mindful way of navigating life's uncontrollable winds—helping them learn how to "work with, sit with," and ultimately accept these challenges, adjusting their sails as they journey through life's storms.

Our practice is here to serve everyone, especially those who feel underserved or unheard. Our message to you is simple: you are not alone. We are here to walk alongside you for as long as you need us, helping you find peace, balance, and joy in life.

Education & Training

I earned my master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Boston College. My professional experience spans school, hospital, and outpatient settings, including community mental health and private practice.

My Approach

I strive to be flexible in my approach to meet the unique needs of each client. I consider myself a thought partner in therapy, working collaboratively with my clients to shape the process. Whether you’re seeking advice or prefer guidance to discover your own solutions, I aim to meet you where you are. I also make it a point to bring my personality into sessions, helping to humanize the therapeutic process. At the core of my work is mindfulness, and I integrate various evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Specialties

I focus on helping individuals navigate a wide range of challenges, such as anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, life transitions, experiences of racism and systemic oppression, gender and sexuality concerns, and relationship or family dynamics. I am dedicated to supporting people of all backgrounds, honoring the diversity of gender, sexuality, religion, and ethnicity.

Personal Interests

Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors with my toddler, DJing as a hobby, hosting social gatherings with family and friends, and traveling to beach destinations.
